Welcome
to My Newsletter!
Whats
new! Always something new.
As I write this, the Superbowl is on. {Go my favorite sports team, score a
goal unit!} < Those who know me well might understand that one! I will reference
to its origins in my "Xerraire Recommends"
A very new event in my web travels is I now have a
BLOG. If you don't know what a BLOG is, Here it goes:
"Web log or simply a blog, is a web application
which contains periodic posts on a common webpage. These posts are often but
not necessarily in reverse chronological order. Such a website would typically
be accessible to any Internet user.
Blogs run from individual diaries to arms of political campaigns, media programs
and corporations, and from one occasional author to having large communities
of writers. Some are maintained by single authors, while others have multiple
authors. Many weblogs enable visitors to leave public comments, which can lead
to a community of readers centered around the blog; others are non-interactive.
The totality of weblogs or blog-related websites is usually called the blogosphere.
When a large amount of activity, information and opinion erupts around a particular
subject or controversy in the blogosphere, it is commonly called a blogstorm"
Although I have not written it in anything riveting,I am enjoying my BLOG,
you can find it HERE
"Petra Returns"
Here
we are all dressed up and ready for our Christmas Dance, a formal occasion,
and mom made our gowns.
Its good to have Petra back home again. We've been to the Harbor where we
went to the Aquarium, and we went to a quick trip to Annapolis. Petra has
been treated to two snowfalls since being here and mom is already on her 3rd
homemade cake, all in Petra's honor!
"Enric &
Miranda's Engagement Photo"
The date has been set, the photo taken, and I formally announce the engagement
of Enric Lopez to Miranda Griffiths.
They are truly a very special couple, very cute together. As Enric's mom,
I thought no one would ever be good enough for my son, but, he actually went
out and found himself a gal who would more than meet my expectations and hopes.
Enric is happier than I have ever seen him, and that is good enough for me!
I didn't get to take this engagement photo, but I am told that Miranda has
requested that I do a serious photo session of two of them on their next trip
back! Gee, just another reason to love this precious gal more!
Mama loves you two, don't get too mad I posted the photo. :)

This comedian has had my family in stitches ever since Enric asked us to
listen to him for the first time...
Brian
Regan
As a kid, Brian was a huge fan of Johnny Carson but his fascination
with stand-up comedy really kicked in when Steve Martin came on the scene.
It was Martins silly, but smart, comedic genius that inspired Brian.
At Heidelberg College
in Tiffin, Ohio, Brian began his dream of becoming a comedian. As a freshman,
having fallen so far behind in his major economics that he knew he
could never catch up, Brian went to his football coach for advice. Knowing
Brian was kind of funny, the coach recommended the Communication and Theater
Arts Department. It was within this world that Brian began his quest for
a career in comedy. From speech class to plays, Brian developed his love
for performing and getting laughs.
In the early 80s, when the Heidelberg years were done, Brian started performing
at a small comedy club in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, an hours drive from
his hometown of Miami. Since he was just starting, Brian was more than
just a comic he was a busboy, a dishwasher, and a cook. Oftentimes, Brian
had to wrap up his shows to flip burgers for people in the crowd. They
might not have liked those early jokes, but boy did they love those burgers!
Over a two and a half year period, Brian actually became a better comic
than cook. It was time to hit the road.
In 86 Brian moved to New York City, where he based himself until 94.
Still hitting the road plenty during those years, Brian used his time in
New York to learn the difference between getting laughs, and getting good
laughs. Brian kept his comedy broad enough to work anywhere in the country,
but interesting enough to make a name for himself in the demanding New
York City scene. The tightrope paid off when he won $10,000 in the K-Rock
Miller Lite Funniest Person in New York contest in 1988

From there things kicked into high gear. Brian moved to headliner status
and began nailing down national T.V. appearances: MTV Half Hour Comedy
Hour, Pat Sajak, Arsenio Hall, andevery comics dream The Tonight Show
with Johnny Carson. By the early 90s Regan had developed into one of the
top stand-up comedians in the country.
